Just like long hair, your Covey Fringed Scarf deserves a little extra attention to keep its delicate fringe neat, smooth, and tangle-free.
Here’s a simple guide to keeping it looking its best.
1. WASH WITH CARE
- When washing your scarf, keep it gentle. Hand wash with cold water and mild detergent, with the fringe braided first to prevent tangling.
- Avoid machine washing, rubbing, wringing, or twisting the scarf, as these can cause the fringe to tangle, fray, or lose its shape.
2. LET IT DRY NATURALLY
- Once washed, gently press out excess water—never wring it.
- Hang dry in the shade and let it air dry naturally. Keep it away from direct sunlight and avoid tumble drying, as high heat can damage delicate fibres.
3. KEEP THE FRINGE IN SHAPE
- A little combing goes a long way.
- When the scarf is still slightly damp, gently re-comb the fringe to keep the strands neat and separated. Use a wide-tooth comb and avoid pulling or combing too aggressively.
4. FOLD IT THE RIGHT WAY
- Before storing, make sure the scarf is completely dry.
- Fold it gently while keeping the fringe aligned. Fold the scarf lengthwise to make it narrower, then fold it into three sections. Gently arrange the fringe before storing.
5. HANG OR STORE WITH CARE
If you prefer to hang your scarf, use a non-slip hanger or a hanger with clips, like a pants hanger. You can also wrap rubber bands around a regular hanger to create extra grip.
